The short answer
Combot is a community tool: analytics, scheduled posts, levels and a ban list of known spammers called CAS. Look for an alternative when your problem is security, not statistics: accounts with no spam record, scams in pictures, copies of your admins. A security bot can run next to Combot, so you do not have to give up the analytics.
Key facts
- Combot's site lists three plans on 13 October 2026: Free, Pro at €9.99 a month and Business at €100 a month.
- Combot keeps 32 days of analytics on the free plan, 100 days on Pro and one year on Business.
- CAS, the Combot Anti-Spam list, bans accounts with a spam record the moment they join a group that uses it.
- A ban list knows only accounts that were already caught somewhere. A new account has no record.
- Combot's site, read on 13 October 2026, describes no reading of text inside pictures, no QR code reading and no check of edited messages.
- Two moderation bots can run in one group. Each acts only on what it detects.
What is Combot, and what does it do well?
Combot is a community management tool for Telegram with a web dashboard. Its site counts more than 480,000 groups. What it lists on 13 October 2026:
- Analytics. Messages, members, joins, leaves and the most active members, with a history of 32 days on the free plan.
- Moderation. A join CAPTCHA, welcome messages, spam filters, warnings, bans and reports from members.
- CAS. The Combot Anti-Spam list. Accounts with a spam record are banned the moment they join.
- Bulk removal. Remove members in bulk by join date, name or username, which is how you clear a raid after it got in.
- Automations. Triggers and actions without code: two on the free plan, 50 on Pro.
- Scheduled posts, and levels, ranks and reputation for members.
| Plan | Price on 13 October 2026 | Analytics history |
|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | 32 days |
| Pro | €9.99 a month | 100 days |
| Business | €100 a month | One year |
If you want to know how your community is growing, and to reward the people who make it lively, Combot is built for that.
Where does Combot's anti-spam stop?
CAS is a list, and a list has one limit that nothing fixes: it knows only the accounts that were already caught. Spam accounts are bought new and thrown away. The account that posts in your group today may have no record anywhere.
This table is drawn from Combot's own site, read on 13 October 2026. "Not documented" means the site does not describe it. It does not prove the feature is absent.
| What the spam does | Combot, as documented | What catching it takes |
|---|---|---|
| Comes from an account with a spam record | CAS bans it on joining | A shared ban list |
| Comes from a new account with no record | Spam filters you configure | Judging the message and the account, not the record |
| Puts the scam in a picture or a QR code | Not documented | Reading the text and the code in the picture |
| Posts something harmless, then edits it | Not documented | Checking every edit again |
| Copies an admin's name and photo | Not documented | Comparing profiles against your admins |
| Joins in a wave | Bulk removal afterwards | Seeing the wave while it happens, and holding it |

When should I keep Combot?
Keep it when you use what it is built for. Engagement analytics, levels and ranks, scheduled posts and automations are things Combot does and Targa does not.
You do not have to choose. Combot stays for analytics and community features, and a second bot handles detection. Leave the join CAPTCHA on in one bot only, so new members are not asked twice.
What should an alternative do that Combot does not?
Five questions to ask of any bot you consider:
- Does it judge accounts with no record? A list cannot. Something has to read the message itself.
- Does it read pictures? Much scam text now arrives as an image. See scams in pictures and QR codes.
- Does it check edits? A message that passes at noon can become a scam at one.
- Does it notice a copy of your admin? See the fake admin scam.
- Does it say why? A bot that removes a member without a reason gives you nothing to check and nothing to tell the member.
How does Targa compare?
Targa is a security bot with a web dashboard. It does less community management than Combot and more detection.
It checks the CAS list too, and adds federations, which are ban lists that groups share with each other. On top of the lists, an AI reader checks every message in any language. It reads text and QR codes inside pictures, normalizes lookalike characters, checks messages again when they are edited, and compares names, photos and bot handles against your admins. It watches how fast accounts join and responds to a raid as a wave. Every action carries a reason you can read with /why, and every action can be undone in one tap.
Three limits, stated plainly:
- Targa is in private beta. Access is by request.
- Targa has no engagement analytics, levels, scheduled posts or custom greeting flows. Keep Combot for those.
- Targa's plans are priced by messages checked. On the free plan, protection pauses when the monthly limit is reached. The plans explain it.

How do I try a second bot without risk?
- Add it next to Combot. Do not remove anything.
- Start in shadow mode. Switch it on with /shadow on: Targa deletes nothing, bans nobody, and logs every action it would have taken, with the reason.
- Read the log for a week. Compare it with what CAS banned and what your admins removed by hand.
- Decide from your own group. Turn enforcement on, or remove the second bot. Either way nothing in your group changed while you were testing.

Common questions
Is Combot free?
There is a free plan with moderation, CAS, 32 days of analytics and two automations. On 13 October 2026 Combot's site lists Pro at €9.99 a month and Business at €100 a month, with longer analytics history and more automations.
What is CAS on Telegram?
CAS stands for Combot Anti-Spam. It is a shared list of accounts with a spam record. When a listed account joins a group that uses CAS, it is banned at once. Other bots can check the same list, and Targa does.
Does CAS stop all spam?
No list can. CAS knows accounts that have already been caught spamming. A freshly bought account, or one that has waited quietly for a month, has no record. A list is a good first filter and a poor only filter.
Can I run Combot and another anti-spam bot together?
Yes. Telegram lets a group have several admin bots. Keep Combot for analytics, levels and scheduled posts, add a security bot for detection, and leave the join CAPTCHA on in one of them only.
What is the best alternative to Combot?
It depends on what you use Combot for. For analytics there are other community tools. For anti-spam, look for a bot that judges each message and each account, and test it in a mode that only logs before you let it act.
