Is this Telegram username a lookalike?
Scammers copy an admin's name with one character swapped: a Cyrillic а for a Latin a, a zero for an o, rn for m. Paste what you see and the checker shows every character that is not what it looks like.
Nothing you type leaves your browser.
How to use it
- Open the profile of the account that wrote to you and copy its name or @username exactly. Do not retype it.
- Paste it in the first box. If you know the real admin's @username, paste that in the second.
- Read the table. A character whose script is not Latin, or that looks like another, is the swap. A real Telegram @username never contains one.
Why one character is enough
Telegram shows display names in any alphabet, so a scammer can copy an admin's name with a Cyrillic а or е and the two look identical on screen. Usernames are stricter: only a to z, 0 to 9 and underscore. That is why the username, not the display name, is the thing to compare, and why a zero where an o should be, or an l where an I should be, is what to look for.
